I bo ught a tent that fits in the bed of my tacoma. Setup was pretty easy, even in the dark. It fits the truck air bed and is well ventilated. The only issue i foresee: the rainfly does not fully cover the tent. Big nono for pnw camping.

The tent is a napier backroadz.

I wish the rainfly had better coverage, and the door rolls up at the floor. I would rather have a split zipper entry that can roll to the top or a d style that rolls to the side, but overall very nice.

Would post pics, but kinja doesn’t like that.

Any pics?

Is it mounted in the truck bed, or on the top the truck bed sides?

Pics will come when i get out of it. I am comfy with doggo and cannot be bothered to exit. It rests atop the bed sides with straps securing it to the body and tailgate. The poles sit outside the bed, and there is a liner.

Good to know. I'm thinking of getting one for racetrack camping, since my buddy and I have decided to sell our hanky track pop-up.

Is there no awning to cover the entrance way should you want the door open a little while it’s raining or just to give some cover while your getting in and out during the rain?

Granted you’ll get a lot less rain than we do.

Nope. That would be on the sportz model line, also by napier. I may end up getting one of those as well. The place those pics were taken is not where i normally camp. I prefer the coast of washington to our desert plateau.

Ye’, Washington State has similar weather to us in Cumbria.

The extra awning to takes your boots off is mandatory really. Lol. So as not to bring in the mud or any of the rain, rain in.

Theres about a meter of open space between the end of my airbed and the end of the tent, plenty of room to stow gear for two, as for the shedding of the boots, i just plan on sitting on the tailgate and dangling my legs out the back.

I may sew together an extra section to the rain fly to make an awning , along with a patch to cover the open space next to the cab. First, i need to seal the seams and waterproof it, then see how it handles some light rain.
